JB-Singapore RTS Link: Asst Prof Terence Fan on cross-border transport, train capacity
The first of eight trains for the Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link has been unveiled. Tracks are set to be laid by end-July, with services starting in end-2026. Once completed, the trains will run from 6am to midnight daily. Each train can typically hold a normal capacity of 607 people. The fully automated, driverless trains can carry 10,000 passengers an hour in each direction, with a peak-hour frequency of 3.6 minutes.
